As I reflect on the recent births I have attended, I am struck by the powerful belief the Mothers had that they could give birth and in each case they did without any intervention and it was a privilege for me to witness this. It was no coincidence though that these births went well let me explain!

Each of us is different; which is so special as it makes us individuals. It is therefore a strange idea that all our baby’s will choose the exact 40 week gestation to enter the world. For reference, 280 days = 40 weeks = 9 months 6 days. It is a long time but hey you are growing a complex human baby!

Successful Breast Feeding

We at UK Birth Centres are passionate about breast feeding and hate to hear stories about women struggling to have their baby gain weight when breast feeding, this can be a real worry for all concerned and even lead to the Mum switching to formulae feeding and ceasing to breast feed altogether.
