Everything is planned around you and your needs. Your antenatal appointments are planned around you. Your other children can be involved if you wish. We will offer you advice on getting baby into a good position for birth. We can help you with relaxation techniques. If you are having some care in hospital, we can accompany you to appointments if you wish (please ask the hospital permission in advance).
If you wish, we can arrange for a brand new birthing pool to be delivered to your home. It includes connection kit and pool liner. We can help you to practice setting it up and decide on the best place for it to be when the big day arrives.
If you have had problems in the past, we may still be able to care for you. We are not restricted by the MOU. So if you had a caesarean section last time, or you have a medical problem, we can have our obstetrician review your notes and you may still be able to have a lovely home birth with us.
If a hospital birth is the right thing for you, if we can we will come with you. We do ask that you write to the hospital in advance to ask that your private midwife be allowed in with you. We can help with this.
If you develop some problems during the pregnancy, we will do all we can to work with you to correct it. So if you have gestational diabetes, we will be with you to go through diet sheets and monitor you, to try and keep things as normal as possible.
After baby is born, we can take blood for the new-born screening test and also help to arrange a new born hearing test. We will help you to establish breast feeding and we can visit you at home for up to 6 weeks if needed.
