Áine Hennessey

My name is Áine and I have been a midwife since 2013. I trained in Trinity College Dublin and I have worked in all areas of midwifery, from antenatal and postnatal, labour wards, theatre and finally landing into home births. I spent time working in the UK and UAE as well as here in Ireland. I have worked as a home birth midwife since 2018. I currently facilitate home births in counties Kildare, West Wicklow, Carlow, Kilkenny, West Dublin and parts of Meath. I also teach hypnobirthing, baby massage and I became a fully qualified reflexologist in 2021.

My passion lies in physiological birth, empowering women and families to take control of their own pregnancy and birth experience, while offering unwavering support to the best of my abilities. Birth is the most precious time in a woman’s life, and by helping them prepare towards a positive birth experience, while facilitating the transition into motherhood and parenthood, is the most fulfilling and honouring thing to be a part of. I believe every birth has the capacity to be a positive experience, and I cannot wait to help you on your journey to meeting your baby and welcoming them into your family.

Aleanbh Cox

Aleanbh Cox is a mother to two beautiful daughters and a registered midwife in Ireland. She trained in Trinity College and The Coombe Women’s and Infants University Hospital Dublin and graduated in 2011. She continued to work in the Coombe after graduation until early 2019.

Since late 2014, she has offered private Hypnobirthing classes to couples in order to prepare them for the birth of their baby. In 2018, she had the opportunity to use everything that she had been teaching in Hypnobirthing classes herself in the birth of her second daughter. And what an amazing experience that was!

Most recently, she completed a Spinning BabiesParent Educator training in Holland, an Antenatal Yoga training in Dublin and a baby massage course.

She is also a volunteer for AIMS Ireland and provides confidential support to women. She does this by reviewing individual women’s case notes and by providing feedback and information to allow women to gain a better understanding of their birth story. Sometimes women have precise questions about why a certain procedure was done or sometimes a review of the case notes helps to ‘fill in the gaps’.

She has joined Private Midwives Ireland in the Dublin area so that she can offer her fellow colleagues and the women they care for additional support during labour and birth of baby.

Ali Murphy

Mother to four adult children Lucy, Kate, Dan & Anna. All born under Midwifery care in Dublin. Three born at home with Midwives.

I am working as a homebirth Midwife in Dublin since 2019. I am passionate about women centred Midwifery care.

I believe in a womans right to choose How, Where and With whom she gives birth. I trust women to make the right choices about their bodies and their babies. I believe in evidence based care.

I know that a professional relationship based on trust in the safety of a womans home is a wonderful way to birth.

I have a special interest in mental health and birth trauma. I also work as a hypntherapist, yoga teacher and baby massage instructor in Ireland South East.

Darry Reed

Hi, I’m Darry, I care for families chosing homebirth across Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare. Having had homebirths myself, I am passionate about supporting and empowering other women to birth at home.

I trained in the Coombe Hospital and Trinity College Dublin, and qualified in 2016. I worked in the Coombe Hospital for 6 years before leaving to work as a homebirth provider full time.

I am especially interested in supporting women through their spiritual and emotional journey into motherhood.

Liselotte Hill

Hi I’m Liselotte, I am a nurse, midwife, IBCLC, baby massage instructor and a mother of 3. I studied my nursing & midwifery in Belgium, worked there for 1 year and came to Ireland in 2002.

I live in the beautiful Co. Wicklow together with my husband and our 3 children plus a collection of family pets.

I am passionate about providing continuity of care, evidence based care, supporting informed choice and physiological birth either at home or in hospital.

I believe the relationship with your midwife should be reliable and trusting and it’s an honour to be able to go through this unique and special time of your life with you.

Nanni Schluenz

I am Nanni and have been a midwife in Ireland since qualifying in Germany in 2008. I have been providing Homebirths since 2015 and am also qualified as a Hypnobirthing Teacher as well as holding a Masters in Learning and Teaching. My work ethic is driven by the need for equality and client centred care. I have extra qualifications in Aromatherapy, Acupuncture in pregnancy and the use of Homeopathy. Hi, I’m Sarah. I trained in the Rotunda and Trinity College Dublin and I qualified in 2011. I am a mum to 4 grown-ups and a hypnobirthing and antenatal education teacher since 2006. I am passionate about women being able to access evidence-based care with a health professional they are familiar with, in the place of their choice. Women deserve to know all their options so they can make an informed decision. I am happy to support women and their families in Dublin and surrounding counties.

I also do the ‘Closing of the Bones’ as I think we need to support our mums postnatally much better than how we traditionally support them in Ireland.
