Non-Clinical Support Packages

Alongside our experienced midwifery care packages, we offer non-clinical support packages. These packages are designed to complement your clinical care from your private or NHS midwife.

What Do We Offer?

It may be that you want to book a support package alongside your midwifery package; or it may be that you are happy with your NHS midwife but feel you would like some additional, personalised support.

Our non-clinical packages are there to provide information, help with birth planning, hygiene needs, support your hypnobirthing, be with you during labour and birth, massage, mobilisation, help with caring for baby, support with feeding and most importantly – give you emotional support throughout.

Who Provides This?

This option is provided by Senior Midwifery Support Workers, Student Midwives and Newly Qualified Midwives who are still gaining experience and consolidating their knowledge and skills.

All team members are fully trained and employed by Private Midwives. They have enhanced DBS check and robust pre-employment checks. You have peace of mind knowing that our same standards and processes apply.

The OPAL Birth Support Package:

This package provides physical, emotional and practical support. It does not replace clinical care from your midwife.

  • A face-to-face home visit lasting 2-3hrs with your support worker. Get to know each other, discuss options and choices, formulate your birth plan
  • A video call with your support worker and an experienced midwife to review your birth plan, ask any clinical questions, seek any clinical advice
  • Access to pre-recorded birth planning/parent education materials to view at your leisure
  • Support worker on call 24/7 from 37 weeks of pregnancy
  • Once labour has commenced, they will accompany you and remain with you until the baby is safely in your arms. You may wish to have support in a hospital environment. If so, your support worker is there alongside the NHS to ensure you are never left alone. You may also opt to have a support worker for your home birth. Once your private Midwife or NHS midwife is present, your support worker will attend and can work with your midwife or if you prefer, look after other children for you.
  • Immediate post-birth support with hygiene and feeding. It may be the tea and toast, or a hot shower you really want, but relax knowing that your support worker has it all in hand
  • Two in-person home visits within the 10 days after birth, each lasting 1-2hrs. Talk through how things went, ask questions, help with your hygiene needs, help with baby care
  • Total Cost
