A Planned C-Section Birth Story

I had used private midwifes previously so when I fell pregnant with my second child I immediately looked to Private midwives for care and I wasn't disappointed. After ringing the office I was paired with Midwife Madelaine and I couldn't have been happier! From the initial phonecall I knew she was the perfect match for me; kind, empathetic, knowledgeable and professional she made me feel at ease from day one.

I was incredibly anxious throughout my pregnancy and found it very difficult on many occasions but with Madelaine by my side I knew I could get through it.

Throughout the pregnancy I had many hospital appointments and had to decide between a home birth or C Section. Madelaine prepared me well for these appointments so I knew exactly what to expect when I arrived and when I did arrive she was there right by my side. We spent many appointments discussing the pros and cons of each birthing option and I never felt rushed into making a decision. In fact I didn't make my final decision until week 37 of my pregnancy and Madelaine made me feel like this was ok.

In the end I decided on a planned C Section. At this point, Madelaine was amazing in preparing me for the day and ensuring it was the most positive experience it could be. She was there to greet myself and my husband on the morning of the section and stayed with me throughout the day. It was lovely waking up from the aneasthetic to her by my side and with my baby in my arms.

Madelaine is so friendly and approachable I felt supported every day of the pregnancy and knew I could call her anytime (and I did). She always responded almost immediately and made me feel at ease.

I am so grateful to Madelaine for her care and support and if I ever had another child she would be the first I would call. Madelaine is now very much apart of our family! She is a real life Angel!
