Individualised birth support

by Jo Watson / Tuesday, 16 May 2017 / Published in Labour & Birth

PismoBeachSand

In this beautiful picture you can see that each grain of sand is unique and beautiful and I want you to reflect on just how amazing it looks!

A beach full of sand or even the contents of a child’s sandpit looks uniform, you would expect that as you let the grains fall through your fingers they were all the same but on closer inspection with a microscope we now know they are all different.

Now with this image as a reminder you can see that if you are being cared for by strangers in a setting where there are large numbers of pregnant women day after day, then it will be hard for the midwives and Doctors to see you as the beautiful individual grain of sand!

As Independent midwives working with Private Midwives we provide individualised care for you throughout pregnancy, allowing Midwives to get to know you as the unique and amazing individual that you are. Studies show that this form of care is the best way to reduce the chance of caesarean, to increase natural birth and lower the need for epidurals

Isn’t it great that at Private Midwives we believe in a holistic model of care that puts you first as we think you deserve the very best in continuity of care. We believe whole heartedly that women should have the continued support of a midwife, so you get to know and trust her and as a result it builds confidence and reduces anxiety.
