I want to write about the team of midwives we have here at Private Midwives and how we are committed to making you and your baby’s safety our priority. On 8th of March we celebrate International Women’s Day and in recognition of that, I have decided to outline how we at Private Midwives are committed to supporting Women to have the very best birth possible according to the journey your pregnancy and birth takes you on.
A vision is your dream plus your commitment to the dream. This is a starting point with me when discussing a women’s birth plan, something I entitle “Birth Hopes”. Many women will present their birth plan to the Midwives when they are in labour and then wonder why it all goes out of the window.
At Private Midwives we enable you to empower yourself by equipping you with strategies that will help you overcome hurdles. We help you to learn techniques to deal with the ebb and flow of labour and we listen to you as you talk about your Birth Hopes.
How we at Private Midwives will help to make your birth plan a reality:
Step One: Form your Birth Vision.
Step Two: List your hurdles and anxieties.
Step Three: We will help create a strategy to overcome hurdles.
Step Four: We will help you learn techniques for use in labour.
On your journey towards realising your Birth Hopes having your own midwife is very helpful! It is always going to help to have your own midwife who takes time in your own home to listen to you so you can work together towards your goal.
Dance, meditation, breathing exercises, massage and use of the birth ball all encourage your soft and feminine state of being in readiness for the birth of your baby.
We need to connect women with their midwives in helpful ways that allow women to feel empowered.
Happy International Women’s Day!
