It has been my pleasure as an Independent Midwife to work with a number of inspirational therapists who work with pregnant women to help ease many minor ailments of pregnancy, as well as rectify other conditions such as breech presentation. The alternative therapy that is utilised for the correction of breech presentation is known as Moxibustion and having seen the positive outcomes from this therapy, I trained in the technique myself and have incorporated this skill in my practice for many years.

Being an Independent Midwife has allowed me to care for a small caseload and in that way I can get to know each woman really well and more importantly they get to know me.

I like many enjoyed the BBC drama series “Call the Midwife” that featured a group of Midwives in the 1950’s who worked in the Docklands region of London. It led me to reflect on the changes that I have seen during my career as a Midwife.
